Professionals for every child
Meshi is driven by a strong sense of mission to create the best educational, therapeutic, and environmental conditions that will enable every child to express themselves, participate fully, and experience a fulfilling life. Meshi strives to create a holistic and proactive therapeutic environment, empowering professionals to identify and develop solutions that redefine the limits of what is possible, thereby paving the way for children to lead rich and meaningful lives.
Meshi was officially established in 1998, but its roots trace back to the birth of Ruchama Feldman, the ninth child of Lifsha Feldman. Born with a heart defect and later diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP), Ruchama faced complex motor and cognitive impairments. When Lifsha’s search for an adequate educational setting proved unsuccessful, she decided to take the initiative and establish a center herself.
Lifsha envisioned and built a center where children with complex disabilities could develop, learn, and thrive – a comprehensive environment tailored to the unique needs of each child.
In a remarkably short time, Meshi has emerged as Israel’s foremost rehabilitative center for children, offering innovative educational and therapeutic services in nursery and classroom settings.
Over the years, guided by Lifsha’s vision, Meshi has become
serving over 270 children and adolescents in five educational and rehabilitative centers
To fulfill our mission, Meshi offers an extensive range of services through its various rehabilitative-educational centers. They all promote Meshi’s unique mission, values, and therapeutic approach, tailored to the developmental stage and specific needs of each age group. All centers operate under the supervision of the Ministries of Education and Social Affairs.

Over the years, Meshi utilized a unique therapeutic approach called “The Meshi Way”. A holistic and multidisciplinary functional treatment method where teams of health and education professionals collaborate to advance the functional abilities and participation of each child in all aspects of their lives. The Meshi Way enables the professional teams to design holistic individual program for every child, which integrates a broad spectrum of rehabilitative and developmental treatments.
The centers also employ innovative treatment programs and tools based on continuous multidisciplinary collaboration and cutting-edge technologies, like virtual reality, space suits, 3D printing, and various assistive technologies. This way, each program can be tailored to the child’s specific needs and abilities — enabling meaningful and sustainable progress.
The educational programs at Meshi’s centers are designed to provide children with a school experience that reflects their age and social background, despite their disabilities. The curriculum encompasses all core subjects, enrichment programs, and social events typically found in general education. Additionally, Meshi offers adapted learning programs and activity groups such as robotics, AI, 3D design, Paralympic sports, cooking, music, and more, which broaden participation, knowledge acquisition, social integration, and future employment opportunities.
The warm, family-oriented atmosphere has been a foundational element of Meshi since its inception and continues to be a cornerstone of the Meshi Way. Meshi provides significant support to parents and families, recognizing them as key partners in the child’s rehabilitation process, while also addressing the unique challenges they face as caregivers of children with special needs.
Parents are deeply involved in every aspect of their child’s rehabilitative and educational programs, and are encouraged to visit Meshi to observe their child’s progress and learn how to reinforce development at home. Our teams offer ongoing professional guidance, home visits, personal counseling, and support with medical interventions and claiming social rights. We also provide support groups, recreational events, and workshops for parents, siblings, and grandparents.
As the mothers of Meshi often say:
"Meshi isn’t just a second home for our child — it’s a second home for our entire family, surrounding each of us with care and support every step of the way"
To make all of this possible, Meshi invests in essential resources beyond standard allocations to ensure effective, individualized care for every child and every disability:
As a result, Meshi is able to accept only approximately 30% of the children who apply each year. The financial gap created by these essential initiatives amounts to around 5,000,000 ILS annually. Bridging this gap is where your support is crucial.
While we may know the way forward, we need partners to walk it with us — partners who will help us provide every child with the opportunities, tools, and hope they need to take their next step forward. Partners like you.
